B&W, CDM 1 - Standmount Excellence!

B&W CDM1 SE in 2 tone Cherrywood... there's no need to over-tout B&W and or these CDM 1 SE stanounts. They are one of the most succcessful speakers & line that B&W ever produced. CDM - "Compact Domestic Monitor", Special Edition w/consecutive serial numbers & sporting 165mm cone type woofers installed for the lower registers. The diaphragm of this unit is made of Kevlar composite which attenuates standing waves by making the movement of refracted sound waves through the material uneven, minimizing the coloring of sound. In addition, a center equalizer (phase plug) is installed in the center of the voice coil instead of a dust cap to improve the diffusivity in mid-range and high-range areas connection between drive units smoother.

A 26mm dome-shaped tweeter takes care of the high-end range. A metal diaphragm is used for its vibration plate, and cooling effect is enhanced by magnetic fluid.

The crossover section is arranged on separate boards for mid-bass driver and tweeter to eliminate mutual interference between each circuit. In the box layout, the tweeter section is an independent structure, and the woofer and tweeter are arranged in linear phase so that sound can reach simultaneously. The enclosure uses a bass reflex system with rounded corners to minimize the diffraction of sound waves.

So all in all a very nice set of classic B&W standmounts - finish is lovely with only the slightest signs of wear. They are image & soundstage champs and are capable of filling a good size room with highly resolving and intimately articulate music reproduction - they play GREAT! Totally gone through and play to spec.
